What tier is the datacenter and what certifications does it have?

Accepted Answer

In Madrid we operate from the Cogent datacenter in the electrical substation of San Sebastián de los Reyes, with all the technical measures of a Tier III: redundant power with diesel generators, N+1 cooling, on-site 24/7 surveillance and fire-suppression system. Cogent as an operator doesn't expose facility-specific certifications, but Hostealo operates with active ISO 27001 and ENS certification in progress. In Mainhausen the DC is Enormate Green Center (Frankfurt area), with equivalent measures; the operator does not publish specific certifications publicly.

Is there power redundancy, N+1 cooling and fire suppression?

Accepted Answer

Yes in both locations. Madrid (Cogent): dual power feed with UPS and diesel generator backup, redundant cooling, fire suppression and on-site 24/7 surveillance. Mainhausen (Enormate Green Center): equivalent measures under the operator's standard, with electrical redundancy, cooling and 24/7 surveillance. Electrical uptime SLA is contractually backed by each datacenter.

Question 3

How much power per rack is included? What if I need more?

Accepted Answer

Each colocation plan includes a base power allocation shown in each format card in the plans table above. If you need more power, a dedicated circuit or redundant dual feed for high densities (heavy compute, GPUs, ASICs), we quote it case by case according to what circuit the datacenter can provide.

Question 4

How is space billed: per U, ¼ rack, ½ rack or full rack?

We offer from 1U up to a full rack (42U). Standard formats: 1U, ¼ rack, ½ rack and full rack. Prices, included power and bandwidth per format are in the plans table above. For private cages or special requirements (multiple racks, segregated space) we quote on demand.

Question 5

Is there a setup fee, minimum term and exit cost?

Accepted Answer

Setup fee: depends on the case (initial install, special cabling, datacenter requirements), always quoted upfront before signing with the exact amount confirmed. Minimum term: depends on what you contract — from monthly with no commitment to annual contracts with discount. Exit cost: if you remove your hardware at the end there's no additional cost, we only coordinate the date and access to take it out.

What's the bandwidth model included?

Accepted Answer

Depends on the datacenter. Madrid: 1 Gbps unmetered free by default, 10 Gbps port available free under Fair Usage, and up to 100 Gbps unmetered as a contractable upgrade priced by capacity. Spanish billing model is 95th percentile when you contract unmetered. Mainhausen: the uplink is L2 direct to PletX, so the port runs under Fair Usage instead of unmetered, with no percentile metering.

Can I bring my own /24 and ASN to announce from the DC?

Accepted Answer

Yes in both locations, Spain (Madrid) and Germany (Mainhausen). We announce your IPv4 /24 and your own AS behind our upstream BGP. If your /24 needs Anti-DDoS protection, the product is IP Transit with Anti-DDoS, with scrubbing in Madrid (Hostealo Shield) or Mainhausen (W&D Shield + PletX) depending on where your rack lives.

Do you offer cross-connects to other carriers or clouds (AWS, Equinix, ESpanix)?

Accepted Answer

Not operational right now. In Madrid it's on the roadmap but we don't offer it yet. If you need a direct peering with a specific carrier or cloud from day one, let us know before signing so we can evaluate feasibility case by case. Punctual connections can be coordinated manually with the corresponding carrier.

Question 9

What's included in remote hands and what does an extra hour cost?

Accepted Answer

Madrid: if the task is simple and our team is physically in the DC (reboot, network cable swap, visual check, even basic hardware swap that doesn't take long) we usually don't charge. Mainhausen: remote hands are performed by the local operator and pricing depends on the task — simple tasks are usually included, complex ones billed per intervention. In both cases we coordinate by ticket and confirm cost if it applies before acting.

Question 10

How is physical access to the DC for my technical staff? Is it 24/7?

Accepted Answer

Yes, 24/7 access with prior authorisation in both datacenters. We manage the authorisations: from the client area at my.hostealo.com you can request punctual or permanent access for your technical staff, or contact us directly. In Madrid facility access is by NFC key + PIN after on-site ID verification. In Mainhausen the process is handled by the DC operator under our authorisations.

Question 11

Do you have shipping/receiving to send new hardware?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can ship materials in our name directly to the datacenter, both in Madrid and Mainhausen, no issue. We receive the package, verify it against your delivery note and store it until installation. Drop us a ticket when it's on the way with the tracking so we keep an eye on the delivery.

Who can physically access my rack? Is there ID verification?

Accepted Answer

Madrid: the facility has on-site 24/7 surveillance with ID verification, access by NFC key + PIN to the technical area, and rack access by password known only to personnel you've authorised. Mainhausen: 24/7 surveillance and access control managed by the DC operator under our authorisations. In both cases only personnel with explicit authorisation registered on your account get in.
